New pirate gang took control of MV Abdullah

New pirate gang took control of MV Abdullah

A new pirate gang of Somalia took the control of hijacked Bangladeshi ship 'MV Abdullah', it was learnt. The ship changed its position on Friday afternoon after anchoring. On Thursday, the ship anchored 20 nautical miles off the Somalian coast.

Then the old pirate gang members got down from the ship. And some 15-20 pirates, equipped with heavy arms, took the control of the hijacked ship. Then they changed the ship's position.

Till Thursday (March 14) the gang did not contact with the ship owners and demand any ransom. It is suspect that they will soon send a proposal of ransom money through their representatives.

Mizanul Islam, media consultant of KSRM Group said, on Thursday, MV Abdullah was anchored 20 nautical miles off the Somalian coast. Then another gang took the control of the ship. But around 3:30pm, the hijacked ship changed its position. No one will contact with us. But the sailors are safe."

On Tuesday (March 12), Bangladeshi ship 'MV Abdullah' carrying 23 crews, was hijacked by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean. The pirates took the the control of the whole ship within 15 minutes.

The family members of the victim sailors have passing times with anxiety. They failed to contact with them after Tuesday.
