Tigers fly off to England for Ireland ODIs

Daily Bangla Times: Bangladesh cricket team left here for England in two groups Monday for three one-day internationals against Ireland, scheduled to be held in Chelmsford on May 9, 12 and 14.

The first group boarded the 1:40am flight while the second set of the Tigers' contingent departed at 10:15am. Shakib al Hasan, currently enjoying time off with his family in USA, will fly off to the UK before Friday while Liton Das and Mustafizur Rahman, following disappointing stints with their respective Indian Premier League franchises, are slated to join the team in a couple of days.

The men in red and green have already qualified for the World Cup 2023, set to take place in India in October-November.

However, for Ireland a 3-0 series sweep will get them 30 points and direct qualification for the mega event.

Anything other than a 3-0 whitewash will see Ireland contest the World Cup qualifiers next month in Zimbabwe.
