Yunus, Sinha stand against Hasina


International Desk: Nobel Laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus and former Chief Justice SK Sinha have launched a smear campaign abroad against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, says an online Indian media outlet.Dr Yunus and SK Sinha are now living in the US where they have engaged themselves in  the campaign to make Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Front victorious in the upcoming national polls scheduled for December 30, says a report published in the Bengali-language media outlet www.dainikjugasankha.in.
According to the report, Dr Yunus and SK Sinha have urged the people of Bangladesh not to cast vote for Sheikh Hasina and her party men.During his recent visit to Paris, Dr Yunus, in an interview with the media, said Sheikh Hasina has destroyed the Nobel-winning Grameen Bank.

He expressed his resentment over keeping vacant for long the post of managing director of the bank. He also said Sheikh Hasina-led government is campaigning against him in a planned manner.

The media report said  Justice Sinha resigned as Chief Justice of Bangladesh in the face of allegations of corruption and moral turpitude.

Following his resignation, the former chief justice published an autobiography tiled ‘A Broken Dream’ where he slammed  Sheikh Hasina-led government for its activities.

Some video clips show that SK Sinha was criticising Sheikh Hasina. It was planned in such a manner so that the video clips go viral on social media in the US and the UK.In the clips, SK Sinha was seen urging the people of Bangladeshnot to vote for ‘Boat’, the report said.

According to the report, Zaima Rahman, the granddaughter of jailed BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, is also engaged in polls campaign.

In a video clip, Zaima was seen calling upon the countrymen to vote for ‘Sheaf of Paddy,’ the polls symbol of BNP, so that her grandmother can be released from jail.
