The prices of onion in the country have increasing rapidly after India has imposed a ban on onion import till March next year.
Local onions are being sold at Tk 240 in the capital, which was Tk 120-140 a day before. Meanwhile, Indian onions are being sold at Tk 200-220.
On Thursday (December 7), a notification in this regard was issued by the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
When the news spread in the Bangladesh's markets, the traders were starting selling onions at Tk 180-190 and the Indians were at Tk 140-150.
