Mirza Abbas walks out of jail

BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas has been released from Keraniganj Central Jail after securing bail in all cases.

He was released Monday evening.

Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP's media cell, provided the information.

The BNP leader walked out of Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj around 6:55pm after the bail order reached the jail authorities, said the BNP media cell member.

BNP leaders and activists of the senior leader of the party and his wife Afroza Abbas received him at the jail gate.

Talking at the jail gate, Abbas said: “Our movement for the restoration of democracy will continue.”

Earlier, the court on Monday granted the bail application of Mirza Abbas in a case of destruction of state assets filed at Dhaka Railway police station.

Dhaka Judicial Magistrate Julhash Uddin's court gave this order after the hearing in the afternoon.

On Sunday, Mirza Abbas secured bail in a case of vandalism at Ramna Model police station.

Detective Branch (DB) police arrested Mirza Abbas from Shahidbagh in Dhaka in a case of sabotage on the night of October 31 last year. He has been in prison ever since
