Daily Bangla Times: Zayeda Khatun, the independent mayoral candidate in the upcoming Gazipur City Corporation polls, has demanded engagement of foreign observers and army deployment for fair and credible polls. 

Former mayor Mohammad Jahangir Alam, her son and her chief election coordinator, confirmed this on Monday

In her letters addressed to the ambassadors and high commissioners of the USA, UK, Germany, China, Saudi Arabia, India and some other countries,  Zayeda put emphasis on the importance of ensuring a free, fair, credible, and participatory election in Gazipur city. The election will be held on Thursday (25 May).
