Daily Bangla Times: The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) has donated Tk1 crore for the businessmen whose shops burned down in the fire that engulfed Bangabazar Market.

President of FBCCI Jasim Uddin made the announcement after visiting the wreckage of Bangabazar on Sunday noon (9 April).

Meanwhile, the FBCCI president urged all businessmen across the country to come forward to help the affected traders in Bangabazar.

The biggest clothing marketplace in the country went up in a devastating fire on Apr 4. It took 48 fire service units six hours to douse the flames.

Traders in the market claimed that the fire caused a loss of Tk2,000 crore.
