BNP expels 82 more for contesting in UZ polls

BD Online Desk: Bangladesh Nationalist Party has expelled 82 more of its grassroots leaders for contesting the upcoming upazila elections violating the party’s decision.

A BNP press release signed by its assistant office secretary Belal Ahmed on Sunday said that the 82 leaders in six districts—Sylhet, Habiganj, Bogura, Naogaon, Rangamati and Bandarban—were expelled from the party posts, including primary membership.

With the fresh ones, the party has expelled its total 101 grassroots leaders in a week as they all joined the upazila elections as independent candidates breaching the party’s decision.

On Saturday, BNP dissolved its Nilphamari district unit committee due to organisational indiscipline.

According to a party press release, a convening committee of the unit would be formed soon to carry out its organisational activities.
